Bio

Sean Fitzroy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University where he majored in Media Production and minored in Film Studies.

Sean has over 12 years of experience as an award-winning filmmaker, video editor and technical consultant. He has produced and edited videos for a variety of corporate clients including Harvard Business School, Del Monte, and the American Cancer Society. He also developed and tested industry-leading video effects software for Boris FX. Sean recently served as a technical consultant for Cambridge Community Television, where he upgraded the post-production facilities to digital systems through a $70,000 Kellogg Foundation grant.

Sean has taught web graphics, video editing, and streaming media workshops for Future Media Concepts in New York and Boston, and recently trained WGBH editors in Final Cut Pro. He is currently a full-time faculty-member in the Multimedia and Web Design Department at The New England Institute of Art, where he designed the curriculum for the baccalaureate concentration in Digital Video. His courses include Internet Technologies, Web Design and Development, Digital Video, and Digital Compositing.

In 2003, Sean directed the award-winning short film, "Pie in the Sky" as part of the Boston 48 Hour Film Project. He is currently co-producing a documentary about the life and work of Gene Kan, entitled Gone Silent.
